Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Citizens of eTA-required countries and territories need an eTA and a valid passport to board a flight to Canada instead of a visitor visa. An eTA is not needed when arriving by car, bus, train or boat (including cruise ships), but travellers arriving by sea from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon (excluding cruise ships) do need one. Citizens of some visa-required countries who meet certain requirements may apply for an eTA instead of a visa when travelling by air.
