Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

Citizens of the listed visa-exempt countries need an eTA to board a flight to Canada. No eTA is needed when arriving by car, bus, train or boat, except boats from Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon (excluding cruise ships), which require one. Some citizens of certain visa-required countries may qualify for an eTA instead of a visa when travelling by air.

Ebola medical screening and public health measures on return to Canada

Travellers returning to Canada from areas affected by Ebola must complete a medical screening and follow all public health measures on arrival. This applies to Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have been in Ebola areas in the last 21 days, and to foreign nationals who have been in South Sudan or Uganda and hold a valid temporary resident visa or electronic travel authorization and a valid travel document.
